experience in online classes.
No one imagined that humans have to pass for another pandemic and more in 2020, where we have access to so many technologies. But things didn’t always go like we wanted. The pandemic started one day in Wuhan and without us noticing was all around the world. And because of that all our quotidian life changed completely. We couldn't go out due the risk of contagion from our relatives and the rest of the population. The online classes were one of the measurements that we have to start adopting. For that we needed a good connection to the internet and technological implements like computers to do our tasks.
At first they were not so demanding because ICEI divided the theoretical classes of the practical ones, so when the “normality” returned we would have the second ones. But...things didn’t go that way. Before we started we had a "paro" for so long because we hadn't the measures regarding the year and the situation for the people of the region. When we came back for the first semester I was nervous because it was a completely new experience. It was difficult for me to participate in classes because of anxiety and shyness. Also I was so afraid of having an embarrassing situation like turning on my microphone or camera. Thank God nothing of that happened...yet. The classes were just like the presencial ones but with the difference that your study place was your room. And the time between classes was very short so if you didn't organize yourself well things could be hard and stressful.
However, this second semester has been so hard. I have eight classes and some of them are separated for 30 minutes so I have to do all my things very quickly to attend the next class. It’s very stressful and exhausting but I guess is what we have to do. I think this is one of the most difficult academic years of my entire life. Maybe the eight classes in person in the University won't be so hard but the personal, emotional and national situation are not a good combination.
To be honest, I just want that this pandemic is over as soon as possible but we have to wait to have a vaccine that works for everyone. And that process takes time.
Leaving aside all the bad things, it surprised me the capacity of adaptation of human beings. I don't want to be pessimistic but in the future maybe we would have another crisis. And this is a perfect example for us to be conscious and empathetic about the environment and our own humanity. I know that this is not something individual but it's the beginning. Besides the start of the pandemic is related to that at some point.
I very much agree that this second semester has been hard, because I take 9 classes without counting the assistants and the extracurricular schedule, but I don't underestimate that we are all going through the same thing.
ResponderEliminarI agree very much that this second semester has been very hard, I hope we can return to normal soon
ResponderEliminarthe 2nd semester has been more difficult that the 1st semester
ResponderEliminarIt's very interesting what you write about human beings adapting, and I feel it's very accurate, even starting with us; we had to look for spaces inside our homes to study, hygiene also adapted and ¡the masks!, that ones we used to see in Asian people. Then we started using and making them. Enterprises are another clear example.
ResponderEliminari agree with the appreciation of my peers
